Health Screening Program

Thursday, Friday, March 29 and 30
9:00am to 5:00pm

SmartPractice will be testing dental professionals for natural rubber latex allergies as part of their ongoing clinical research program in collaboration with the ADA Foundation. In addition, they will offer their carpal tunnel screening program, in which the degree of injury to the median nerve is assessed through electrodiagnostics. These screening programs are designed to help dental professionals identify potential occupational illnesses and injuries, and ultimately help develop better management strategies for dentistry.

Allergy Testing Requirements
Participants who experience symptoms of contact dermatitis (red rash, cracking dried-out hands) may wish to take the skin patch test. Do not take antihistamines for 24 hours before your latex and/or skin patch allergy screenings.

How it works
Pick up your Raffle ticket at the AzDA Pavilion located in the Exhibit Hall beginning Thursday, March 29 at 9:00am. Visit a minimum of ten (10) exhibit booths and make sure you get your ticket stamped at each booth. Once you have obtained at least 10 stamps, place your completed ticket in the appropriate box located at the AzDA Pavilion. Make sure your name, contact information, and whether you are a dentist or staff has been marked on the ticket before placing in the box. Incomplete or incorrect tickets will be ineligible to win. The drawings will take place at 5:30pm during the Ice Cream Social on Friday, March 30.

Have Your professional portrait taken

We'll take your photo and add it to your "Find-A-Dentist" profile on AzDA.org. Over 2,200 hits are made on AzDA's "Find-A-Dentist" every month looking for a new dentist. We will help you update your profile so they have the information they need to select you as their new dentist. Stop by the AzDA Membership Booth and check it out.

Plus, you can request your photo(s) be emailed to you to use in your own practice marketing.

You can also assist in photographs used in AzDA's communications. If you are not camera shy, you can also volunteer to take a few photographs that may be featured in INSCRIPTIONS, AzDA's monthly journal, or perhaps in one of AzDA's collateral materials. Why use stock photos, when we can use our very own dentist members?

Professional models with posing/runway experience need not apply. Okay, we will still take professional models, but we are just looking for AzDA members and their staff (all ages and diversities) who will enjoy seeing their face in AzDA's communications. It will be fast, fun and of course, it will be free to all AzDA dentist members. We will provide the studio, lights, drop cloths, props (telephone, scrubs, lab coats, instruments and gloves), you provide the smiles.

Competition for the Love of Dentistry

Friday, March 30
Noon – 1:30pm

Come view brief, informal, interactive five to seven minute presentations by dentists, staff, dental students and dental assisting, hygiene and laboratory students. Topics are designed to promote education and dialogue among dental professionals by addressing some of the clinical issues faced in a day-to-day practice.

Presenters will be eligible for cash prizes up to $250. There will be one $250 prize for dentist category, one $250 for dental student category, one $250 for dental staff category and one $250 for the allied student category. Photo Contest: The Art of Dentistry

You be the judge! WRDC attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite "Best of Show" photo during WRDC. The winner will be announced in the April 2011 INSCRIPTIONS issue and on the WRDC website after the meeting. The winning photo will also be featured as the cover for the 2012 AzDA Membership Directory.

Is there prize photography in your collection? Whatever the subject, why not give your fellow meeting-goers a look at your masterpiece! Deadline for submitting your application is February 6, 2012. Those interested in participating in this Exhibition can do so by logging onto www.WesternRegional.com for an official application. Limit of 5 photos per applicant. Exhibition limited to the first 100 photographs submitted.

ADF Auction

Once again, the Arizona Dental Foundation will sponsor an auction in the Exhibit Hall. Sports memorabilia and more will be available for purchase. Proceeds go to the ADF. Auction is open during regular Exhibit Hall hours on Thursday and Friday and will close on Saturday, March 31 at Noon.
