Each spring we invite dental teams from all corners of Arizona, across the U.S. and Canada, and from around the globe to experience our professional event at the Phoenix Convention Center, a contemporary facility offering abundant meeting space, amenities, and breath-taking features including scenic views and an art collection rivaling any museum. It's the perfect setting to relax and enjoy everything the Western Regional Dental Convention has to offer:
- Remarkable Educational Programming: The very foundation of our annual session is education and each year we raise the standards to new levels of excellence. As clinicians and as a profession, we must be proactive and investigate the changes about to take place, and in some cases already taking place. Over the course of the 3-day meeting, we present approximately 45 lectures for Dentists, 25 for Dental Hygienists, 20 for Dental Assistants, 15 for Dental Office Administrators and Business Staff, 10 for Laboratory Professionals, and 20 Hands-On Workshops. Our programs cover virtually all areas of dentistry: Restorative, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology, Periodontics, Cosmetic, Medical Emergencies, Chemical Dependency, OSHA Standards and Infection Prevention/Control, Technological Innovations, Practice Management, plus courses on Personal Health and Well-being.
- Special Events: Our socials include the popular Dental Team Appreciation Luncheon featuring an elegant meal and entertainment, Exhibit Hall "Make Your Own Sundae" Ice Cream Social, Exhibit Hall Wine & Cheese Reception, and a General Session that has featured The Madow Group, Suze Orman, Erin Brockovich, and other powerful speakers. Additionally, the Arizona Dental Association's charitable arm – the Arizona Dental Foundation – hosts a Friday evening event. In 2010, the Foundation celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a Western BBQ featuring a live country band, silent auction, and a "family-style" meal.
- Professional Trade Show: With some 300 exhibit booths representing more than 200 individual companies, you can find the products and services you need for everyday practice in our hall. If it can't be found at the Western Regional Dental Convention, it probably doesn't exist!
- Springtime in the "Valley of the Sun" offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the splendor of the Sonoran Desert and its surrounding mountains. With daytime temperatures between 75 and 80 degrees, nighttime lows around 45-50, sunshine, palm trees swaying in the gentle breezes, and the Sonoran Desert in bloom, the Western Regional Dental Convention offers an experience like no other. Arrive a day early, or stay a while to relax and rejuvenate after all that intense CE. The Valley offers abundant attractions and sight-seeing adventures. You'll find museums, art galleries, fine dining, fun dining, shopping and golf galore, hiking for novices and experts alike, desert tours, scenery that will knock your socks off (Sedona, anyone?) and one of the "wonders of the world" just a few hours' drive from Phoenix – the Grand Canyon.
- Other Unique Features: Would you like to enhance your convention experience by enhancing someone else's? Our Ambassador Program offers opportunities to serve as Speaker Host, Room Monitor, Door Greeter, Registration Desk Helper, or Goodwill Ambassador. Our Ambassadors return year after year.
